Helpful Score: 1
This originial version, as opposed to the 1997 reissue, is better in my opinion because Jay is edgier and sexier in this one.
this story involves all your senses - gripping, dramatic, fun.
A Fabulous story! Lots of verbal battling, defiance, love and hate.
Jennifer is a strong female role and not afraid to speak what she thinks. As the youngest of nine daughters it's no wonder! LOL
Jay is a strong male, deputy marshall, running from his past.
Together these two overcome several trials to learn what love is.

Good book!
Terrific story, but this is a reissue. The originial version, from 1990, is better in my opinion because Jay is edgier and sexier in that one.
If you like your H and H to spar alot, this is a book for you. It's quite a sexy read too without being overly done.
Some of the scenes are quite unique from the everyday stuff that's turned out.
Fun book.

Worried for his daughter's safety, Jennifer Baxter's father hires U.S. Deputy Marshal Jay Culhane to go to Mexico and bring her back. As Culhane 'always gets his man ... er woman' he's confident that she will be no problem to find and return to her family.
When Culhane finds Jennifer working as a schoolteacher south-of-the-border, he thinks his problems are over. However, they are just beginning. No one controls Jennifer, except Jennifer. The rest of the book is a war-of-the-minds (and war-of-words) between Jennifer and Jay.
Culhane is a 'love-e'm-and-leave-e'm' kind of guy. When Jennifer realizes that he is not going to make a commitment to any relationship with her, she sees no other out than to walk away. This is sensitively done and a book I enjoyed.

With hair as dark as sin and a face and a body that were pure heaven, Jennifer Baxter was a woman who knew her own mond and did as she pleased..until she ran off into dangerous territory south of the border. Suddenly she was the captive of a commanding gunslinger sent by her wealthy father to bring her back home. ot about to take orders froma ny man, she founght the arrogant stranger, struggling to resist his raw masculine wirility and recklessly challenging his determination to vanquish her in every way. U.S> Deputy Marshal Jay Cluhane had tracked down outlaw gangs and renegade Indians, but he'd never encountered a prisoner as infuriating as the beautiful schoolteacher Jennifer. From the first time he saw her he swore he would take her into his bed, claim her innocence and bring her to a womans natural fulfillment. But first he had to tame her. From the shimmering desert to a magnificent Texas ranch to the genteel drawing rooms of Savannah, he would pursue her relently, ruled by a fiencre passion for a woman who dared him to believe in the redeeming power of love.
