A true story and fast read. Once you start it, you can't put it down! A man is being persecuted for his religious belief, and he disguises himself as a priest and attempts to escape Spain for France - taking his fiance with him - only she does not recognize him! Don't read it when you're alone!!

Gift Copy! This is an outstanding book that I highly recommend and would not put down until I was done.Don Fernando and his fiance Dona Rosa and her trusted servant Anna are rich, titled, aristocracy until the Spanish Inquisition in 1559. Both of them have accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ and he Catholic church at that time finds the Bible In Don's home and sentences him to death. He is put in prison and escapes and by the grace of God switches identities witha dead man. He poses as the dead man and leads Dona Rosa and Anna to work for the French queen in France.There they barely escape the the ST Bartholomew's massacre and move to England.GEt married and have a son. The father don Fernando writes this story in the form of a letter to his son.
