Eric Metaxas (born 1963 in New York City) is the author of Everything Else You Always Wanted to Know About God and thirty children's books. He is founder and host of Socrates in the City in New York City, a forum for philosophical discussion.
He lives in New York with his wife and daughter. Metaxas' writing has appeared in the New York Times, The Atlantic Monthly, Washington Post, Christianity Today, and First Things. He has written for VeggieTales, 3-2-1 Penguins! (season 1) and Rabbit Ears Productions, earning three Grammy nominations for Best Children's Recording.
His most recent publication is Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy (2010). Before that publication was Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery, which is associated with the 2006 film Amazing Grace.
