this book was useful to me as a reminder of the bits and pieces to check over while i was editing my thesis. it also has a great list of latin abbreviations, etc. (things like i.e., n.b., e.g.) that are easy to use improperly, and that i've never found all compiled like this anywhere else. there's a good basic grammar section which i imagine would be especially handy for non-native speakers, but which i looked into once in a while myself. some bits, like the chapter on computers, are a bit outdated.
