This was the first book I ever read in the "next" series and I must say that it was a nice change from the mainstream chic lit that I usually read.I thought the story was very good.Once the main character got to England I really started enjoying this book.

I love the Next Collection. And The English Wife is such a good read. It was fast, funny, sad and full of "what next is gonna happen". I really liked the charecters and I am in love with this author and would like to read more from her. This Next story was about a woman who's husband passed away, she finds out during the will reading that her husband owned a cottage in England That he had purcahsed apx. 3 months after their marriage and they had been married 27 years, and there was a woman living there free of rent charges. The wife has no idea about the cottage, or the woman and her lawyer says it is up to her to let this woman know her free ride is over and that the owner has died and now as his wife she is now the owner. Fun read.

An amazing story. I loved it. Moves right along. I enjoyed the NEXT step, the characters, and premise of this story. Satisfying ending. Recommend. P.S. I love the cover too!

A good story about a newly widowed woman who finds out her husband had a family in England she knew nothing about. Nicely written, easy read.
I wasn't a fan of this book's overwrought emotions and trite writing.
Very enjoyable light reading, with a good believable cast of characters. Well done.
I read another book with the same title but this is a different book with a different author. It was interesting, but more about a woman's feelings that I found frustrating, but other people might understand and sympathize with, about a woman living in Seattle whose husband dies and leaves her the title to a cottage in England, which he rented free of charge to another woman, none of which his wife knew about. The outcome of all this was surprising in a good way.

Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. It is a wonderful story.

Great book! Wonderful and touching story.
Marjorie's husband left everything to her in his will. This included the property in England. Marjorie never knew about this cottage. She travels to England and finds that her husband of 23 years had a secret life. Easy and quick read. I knocked out this book in two hours. Easy to figure out the happy ending.
