I really wanted to like this book. I had waited for it ...was on my wish list..finally got it..spent three days trying to get into this book. No Can Do. The best part of this book is the pretty cover. The whole idea of the cozy mystery in the typical English manor is a great one..but Ms Kilpack goes on and on with a very wordy first through third chapter without saying anything. There is no hook, no colorful intro. You have a mom and a daughter, and a dead body. The mom and the daughter are so similar and nondiscript that I had to keep going back to see which was which...the boyfriend is a non faced entity without meaning or placement in the big picture. Even the dead body was ?? who was it again? Anyway, so it goes. Not a good pick for me. It's a shame, because she could have done so much with it.
