Just a minor spoiler ... This is the immediate prequel to the 50th anniversary episode - Day of the Doctor.

Ok. Not the best writing ever. But G. Mann has honed his authoring skills before taking on this project. So just take off your English major cap and enjoy the story.

Aside from the technical aspects of writing, the believable plot premise ties in very well with both the "Lsat Night" webisode and the "Day of" episode. You would think Mr. Mann got a private interview with Stephen Moffet and made off with Moffet's crib sheets. There are references to events from numerous older episodes (End of Time, Return of the Daleks, and School Reunion are a few that come to mind) which make the Dalek experiments plausible. This book also explains why the Time War ended up the way it did.

So I read it as a huge Doctor Who fan, understanding that the author is still developing his writing skills. (You should read some of James Patterson's earliest books!) The book is not deep, so it took only a couple hours to finish - about the standard for most of the DW novelisations from the past 40-years.

Still thinking about keeping this book or not.
