Good book
The setip was perfect. Together, they'd buy a houseboat, assume false identities, stake out Missippi river town, and steal from the filthy rich {and corrupt mayor. Then they'd expose every dirty little secret in the dirty little town. It was the perfect scam. Until everything went wrong.
#2 in Sandford's Kitt/LuEllen series. Not as good as #1 and #3, but still a good read. It amuses me that the technology has changed so much since the writing of these books. I am looking forward to reading the fourth and final book in this series.
Ok read

Another good read from Sandford
While I was waiting for Sandford's next "Prey" book (love them all), I decided to go back and read his earlier series of the "Kidd and LuEllen" cons. What a great romp! You end up liking the con artists, in part, because he makes the bad guys so dispicable (envision a scene where two town thugs let loose kittens for target practic . . . overall a satisfying quick read.
Great book to follow up the last one, "Fool's Run".
A con game by two con artists, targeting the Mayor of a small Mississippi river town. After buying a houseboat, assuming false identities, and exposing local scandals, things seem perfect. Until things go wrong!
John Sandford's most ingenious and captivating novel of suspense, set in the shadowy world of high-profit scams and con games. With the same riveting human insight he brings to the murderers and manhunters of his acclaimed Prey novels, Sandford takes us into the minds of two irresistible con artists-Kidd and LuEllen_a winning pair of lovers and liars plotting the ultimate sting. Their target is the wealthy (and corrupt) mayor of a small Mississippi river town. Their set-up includes buying a houseboat, assuming false identities, and exposing local scandals. Their scam is perfect. Until everying goes wrong...

Kidd and LuEllen in imaginative con scheme.
I loved this book! I haven't read anything by John Sanford that I did not enjoy immensely.
Another one with Kidd and LuEllen. A very fun read, really kept my attention. The author is very good at creating a time and place so that you can actually see it in your mind. I would highly recommend this book.

One of the Kidd novels and not quite as good as the Prey books, but certainly worth a read.
Absolutely great book. You will enjoy this if you are a John Sandford reader!
Good story, I enjoyed it.
very good
Very, very different from his Lucas Davenport series. Yet you can certainly see some similarities, particularly in the quick, snappy, and very real dialogue and the cinematic qualities of the scenes and cuts. Any Sandford fan will like it, but anyone into police procedurals may be disappointed.
A Mystery from Sandford with his second string characters (his first being Lucas Davenport in the "Prey" novels). This one has a criminal protagonist using his criminal skills to solve crimes and bring even worse criminals to justice. An insteresting new take on the mystery/detective genre. Loved it.
really good book...
This book is good for John Sandford but as an earlier version....I think he did better with later books.....
