An absolutely fascinating look into the business of perfume and the business of science. I could not put this book down. I was expecting a book about how perfume is made, which it is, but it's also about the dysfunctional world that is the scientific research community which I found interesting and very enlightening. This book reads like a novel in it's gorgeous, descriptive detail. Like a mystery full of secrets and intrigue, and like an organic chemistry text written by your favorite aunt.
One of the best books I've read this year.
