Faced with an unwanted marriage Elyza dresses as a boy and flees London. The fabulously rich Cleve Redmayne steps in for her rescue when her purse is stolen at the inn where she stops. Cleve convinces Elyza to return to her guardian and stands as her friend as she moves on to Brighton. Elyza is soon head over heals in love. But Cleve is in love with the lovely Corrina. With a light touch this master of the Regency genre brings are starcrossed lovers together. A breezy, humorous novel.

This is a fun little book where everything works out in the end. I have a relish for all things Georgette Heyer (except Venetia--didn't like that), but everything else she touched was delightful. This is along those same lines, though no one writes quite like she does. The characters are solid--not great, but likeable.
If you want a fun, light read with no sex (even hinted at) but a couple of zesty kisses, this is a good book to check out.

Delightful Regency romance by one of the best writers since Georgette Heyer.
