He turns and notices her, reaches into his vest pocket, takes out a penny, and holding it to her, says. Spoken Title: "A penny for your thoughts, Miss Pel-ham." Back. She looks toward him and toward the hand with the penny, which he now places in her hand. She accepts it, hardly aware and then confusedly confesses: Spoken Title: "I was thinking of the Knight Bayard, 'without fear and without reproach.'" A strange expression comes over his face, and rather surprised, he says: Spoken Title: "That is strange--my name is Bayard--Bayard Delaval." Nadine is amazed at this coincidence and in her confusion, of thoughts, which she cannot tell him, he wonders more now of what she is thinking than he did previously. Scene 1 50. I Int. Private car stateroom--CLOSE-SHOT Eustace arranges a pillow for Sadi to rest her head upon and sits down beside her--holding box of chocolates for her while she eats. Their affair is making rapid progress. Int. Private car--Observation Salon--ANGLE _ with Blenkensop in close f. g. and showing through the rear window. She wakes, and missing Nadine, sees her outside with a stranger---Delaval. She rises, a little indignant, and starts outside. Scene 152. Ext. Observation Platform---Private car--ANGLE Blenkensop comes out and speaks to Nadine with rather cold authority, Nadine rises to her feet, and after introducing Blenkensop, tells Bayard good-night and goes within the car.
