This is a wonderful book about a man and the elephants he loved. It is a true story set in Burma both before and during WWII. It gives you insight into these wonderful animals and how intelligent and loyal they are and the man who cared so deeply for them.

This is really a great book. My curiosity about elephants translated into a genuine fondness for them. Croke has done great research and compiled a compelling tale of these animals and the man who truly loved them. This is a marvelous read that reaches into your heart. Well done non-fiction.
