A very satisfying read in every way. Suspenseful, interesting and believable characters, well-plotted, atmospheric and with quirky touches showing the absurdity and pitiableness of our grand gestures, sometimes.
I was a bit dissapointed in this book having read the other 2. It was a quick read but didnt really grab me the way the first books did. I feel like the author rushed this one. Not a total waste of time, but certainly not as good as the others
This is the third novel about Quirke, the pathologist in 1950's Dublin. This is the mystery of the disappearance of his daughter's friend. The mystery is intertwined with the personal life of Quirke, his relationship with his daughter, and his battle with alcohol. This novel grabs you from page 1 to the end. I love this series and am eagerly waiting for the next one!
