I don't typically say this, but the movie was better. The character of Tracy falls somewhat flat in the book, whereas in the movie adaptation the character is given life by Reese Witherspoon. If you enjoyed the movie, the book is kind of a fun follow-up to flesh out some of the characters and plot. I wouldn't bother waiting to see the movie until you've read the book. The movie is less of a time commitment and more entertaining.

funny, fun book. i liked it better than the movie, but i read the book well before i ever saw the movie, and by the time i saw the movie i had forgotten most of the book, so i'm not quite sure if my judgment was accurate... still, a very fun, quick read.
