Two ex-WAAFs meet on the street in post WWII London. Both of these old "friends" are unhappily married and wishing to be free. You might think you see a "Strangers on a Train" plot emerging, but Peter Lovesy is even more devious. I've never read anything by him that I did not like. To write a concise British mystery that is believable, yet full of twists, turns, and engaging characters is no mean feat. Lovesy never disappoints!
