This is the first book I've read by this author and I am sorry that I've not been following her books all along. I was sucked into the story from the very first page and didn't put the book down until I had finished it. The only other authors who capture my attention to that extent are Nora Roberts and Sherrilyn Kenyon. In fact, the dialogue between characters in this book reminded me very much of Roberts' writing style. Can't wait to read more!

This books is the first of 3, if this is an example of what is to come, BRING THEM ON. I couldnt lay it down. I have been reading just ROMANCE for 25 years I Have just discovered I like a little MAGIC mixed in. THis is a books that is not way out there.5 stars for me
In some ways this is 'coming-of-age' story; otherwise a paranormal romance/mystery. Well written plot. Some X-rated scenes.

The Bartel triplets had a rough childhood what with being psychic and all it entails. This is Claire's story...the youngest and an empath so the most vulnerable.
Claire moves to Montana because she can't survive with too many people around since she absorbs their feelings, moods, tempers, etc. When her neighbor dies and her nephew moves into the house...the sparks fly. Neil Olafson is a builder of campers and the noise level is astronomical causing Claire much upset. Eight years ago, Neil's six month old son was stolen from a campground. He has spent the last eight years searching for his son with no success. Claire (and her family) help Neil search using many psychic methods. Because their isn't enough stress in their lives, someone is also trying to kill Claire and someone else is trying to kill Neil.
This is a real roller coaster of an adventure with lots of suspenseful mystery included. This book is a slow starter and has many things are repeated again and again which I found tedious but all in all a very good start to this series

Good book! Starts out fast but slows a little in the middle.
The premise sounded interesting. And it could have been. But the story is riddled with repetitiveness (I got that she is am empath the first time it was said) and errors (he crumples up and throws a letter away on one page only to put it at the bottom of his to-do pile on the VERY NEXY PAGE). Add to that descriptions of purses given in detail--no purse is that interesting--and a thinly developed characters, and you have a waste of a tree.
