Lots of thoughtful philosophizing. More than just a science fiction story. A group of characters are on a submarine when they are caught in a freak storm and pulled into a time warp. The author does a good job of illustrating how each of the characters deal with the changes in his own way.

One of his early works. i didn't like this too much. read some of his work for the forgotten realms series. way better.
