This is the book that got me hooked on Minette Walters...just had to read all the other she wrote.
This one started out good for me, but I thought it was too slow, and couldn't make it through. I don't think I'm as much of a fan of Walters as I first thought because I haven't enjoyed her work since The Sculptress.
Who was Billy Blake, other than a homeless alcoholic who wandered the streets? Whay was he found dead from starvation in one of the richest areas of one of the richest capitals in the world? And why did he die alone in the garage of wealthy architect Amanda Powell-a woman whose wealth can only be explained if her husband is dead...?

Exciting read, based in London. Thriller, quite a few twists

Always a problem when I wait too long to write about a book. What I remember about this one:
Billy, long time homeless, is found dead inside the garage of a woman who denies knowing him. Just found a place to get out of the weather and died there. As the police investigate, however, they find more complications than were originally apparent.
As with many other of her books, Walters makes use of newspaper articles and other documents to fill in blanks, but they don't constitute a large part of the book. It's a complex story with many interesting characters.
