I have tried a lot of different diets but this one worked perfectly for me, fit my tastes and schedule and had lots of little treats in it to keep the diet blues from setting in. The book begins with a thorough questionnaire to determine your eating habits, schedule, and general emotional state throughout the day; based on your responses, Watt recommends one of 12 eating plans, with names like "The Nurturer", "The Artful Dodger", "The Perfectionist", etc., to suit your personality profile. I used the "Power Player" diet and it worked great for me. I didn't have a huge amount of weight to lose, but being able to have a bagel or oatmeal and fruit plus a latte in the morning, half a baked potato at lunch or dinner, and two "serotonin snacks" throughout the day (fat-free cookies or cake, fruit, cheese, rice cakes or bagel with fat-free ricotta and jam, etc.) worked well for me. I didn't get that late afternoon droopy feeling you have with so many diets. I also found Wiatt's sauce, salad dressing, and entree recipes delicious. I would definitely suggest this book as a pleasant and sensible short-term diet program. I lost five pounds in 11 days with no effort at all.
