My girls and I really enjoy reading this book. It is full of vibrant colors and full of lots of familiar and unfamiliar fruits and vegetables. For the ones that Mommy doesn't know how to pronounce, there is an index in back with the pronunciation, description and where it is commonly grown.

We like Lois Ehlert anyway, but adding this book to our collection was great!

This book is another lovely Ehlert book. Each letter of the alphabet, has several vivid, beautiful paintings of fruits and vegetables that start with that letter. For example, "P" shows persimmons, parsnips, pears, pomegranites, potatos, peas, etc...As a parent, I appreciate a book that encourages my child to explore fruits and veggies, both familiar and unfamiliar. No text beyond the names of the fruits and veggies. I would highly recommend this for the 18 mo-5 year old crowd.

My 14-month-old really loves this one! He walks around the house with it and loves pointing to everything. There are actually some fruits and vegetables that I don't even know about, :P but there is a glossary in the back with a pronunciation guide and information about each fruit or veggie. So I'm sure it will still be educational as my son gets older and can do more than just point and grunt imitating noises. ;)
