This is a really fascinating glimpse into what it is like to be an EMT in a small town, where the rescue squad members are a close-knit group and the calls are very varied. The anecdotes were really interesting and the author gives just enough personal details to make you feel attached to her and the people she talks about. Really great read for anyone, though some may be too emotionally fragile to cope with the sometimes disturbing accounts of accidents and illness and calls that do not turn out well.
