Found this in the Christian fiction section of my used bookstore but I wouldn't necessarily catagorize it that way myself. There is no "message" but the characters do go to church, pray, and use the Lord's name without profanity. Angel is a police officer on leave following an incident in which she killed someone (probably in the first book). Now she is working for the DA as a private investigator while she decides whether to go back to being a cop. Someone calling himself "Dragonslayer" is killing abusive husbands. There is family angst as well when Angel's stroke-ridden father turns worse and Angel faces relationship turning point with FBI boyfriend.

This series is a joy to read. I enjoy the characters, even if sometimes the circumstances do strain credibility. If you enjoy a light read, without profanity, this is the series for you. I'm reading them all and enjoying them.
I read the 2nd one first and it wasn't a problem, like most series. It did deal with repercussions from a shooting in the first book so would have made more sense in order.
It was a great read. Very interesting, kept me on my toes and held my attention till the last word. Great ongoing series plot. I agree with others, not sure why they call this christian fiction besides the fact it it squeaky clean.
Definitely going to read more by this author!
