He's back to rescue Lorelai and make her his bride, even if she objects. Both Ash and Lorelai have changed in the last twenty years. She struggles to find the man she used to know in this brutal pirate who claims to have killed dozens.
This is another great addition to the Victorian Rebels series. Each book seems to get better and better. We learn The Rook's actual identity early in the book, but there is another surprise near the end that I certainly did not guess. My rating: 5 Stars.

A good telling of the mysterious Rook. I've never come across a hero as tortured as he, and he certainly earned his notorious reputation a hundred times over. Lorelei was also an abused character at the hands of her brother. A twenty-year memory loss and separation was especially difficult for the couple, and their reunion was rough going as they had to learn about one another all over again. The legendary treasure hunt turned out to be a weak element. 4 stars.
