It's Josie's day off when Detective Finn Metner comes to the door asking for her help. His girlfriend Amber Watts has disappeared. He hasn't heard from her all weekend and thinks she may be in trouble. He broke into her house and found her purse, keys, and phone; but she wasn't there. A message scrawled on Amber's windshield leads Josie and other detectives to the local dam. They find a body of a woman that was washed into the spillway of the dam. When she is pulled from the freezing water, they realize that it is not Amber. Josie and her team work day and night to uncover Amber's past and look for clues to where someone may have taken her.

This is the thirteenth book in the series and it's still going strong. This very twisty fast-paced mystery had me hooked from the beginning. Where was Amber? Had she lied about her past? Who was the girl at the dam? I was shocked by the surprise ending that I didn't see coming at all. My rating: 5 Stars.
