This was a mildly amusing look at an English couple who moved to a farm in rural Spain. The other inhabitants are well described and portrayed.

That said, I wasn't really pulled into the book. I didn't find the author that appealing of a narrator and I didn't feel like I got to know any of the other characters. It was more of a play-by-play than a nicely wove tale. It wasn't bad, but I didn't feel like I'd been on their farm or actually met any of the various people or even had a sense for what they went through. There was nothing bad, there just wasn't anything compelling either.

This story was hard for me to get involved in at the beginning but it is funny and affectionate. It is a relaxing story and great read. Different story.

Interesting tale of one man and his wife's attempt at living in rural Spain. Best enjoyed from the comfort of your armchair:)The author paints a very realistic picture of a fairly unknown part of Spain and the way of life there.
