If you like Holt's other books you will like this one. Interesting story lines and as always a happy ending.
Although the plot was predictable, the characters made this story sing. Some I loved and some were so bad they were good. It was fun to find out how the villains turned out (and with whom). I was hoping for a better ending for Phillip, the handsome potions peddler, and his lovely sister, Clarinda. And even though the writing was rather stilted in some parts, overall it was a very entertaining read. 3.3 stars.

I enjoyed this series & found them to be quick reads. This was listed as the final book in this series. However I am disappointed in that Phillip & Clarinda are left hanging still. They have been such prominent characters throughout the whole series it seems like they need to have their stories completed. I hope we see something in the future that contains the two of them.
