This is perhaps the most bizarre story I have ever read or perhaps I should say, the most bizarre excellent story. Even after reading and enjoying it, Im not quite sure what to say beyond that. At various points, I: laughed out loud; gasped in surprise; wrinkled my brow in perplexity. I cheered on the protagonist and booed the villain (not out loud). Even though you know the end of the story at the beginning, theres no telling how youre going to end up there - until you're there.

...Other than that, Id recommend a quick review of Shakespeares 'The Tempest' before you start. (SparkNotes will do.)

I've never read anything like this book. Bizarre is an understatement. There is no denying it is very well written. The back cover has quotes like " gorgeously surreal", "strange, passionate and enthralling", all which I agree with, but I did not find it "funny...full of delightful mayhem". It was absurd in a disturbing and non humorous way. I started this book 3 times before finally finishing it. I do recommend this book to those who relish the dark, surreal, disturbing or are looking for something original. But I won't be reading this author again.
