With a promising set-up, including a pair of locked rooms, a finite number of suspects, and a secret code to decipher, this looked like a winner from the golden age. But the promise is never realized, and the plot drags on ponderously. Westborough is a little too much like John Dickson Carr's Dr. Fell and Sir Henry Merrivale, but more boring.
