What can I say about this series so far...except that I wished I had started reading it sooner. Although, had I I wouldn't be able to read them in quick succession now.
I just finished Dragonfly in Amber this morning, and it dragged me in from the moment I picked it up. I cried and laughed while reading this book. Diana Gabaldon has such rich descriptive powers that you just fall in love with her characters and your heart breaks and celebrates with them.
This second novel in the series continues Claire's story from sometime after the first books ending- Her telling of what occurred in that year or so after the conclusion of the first book forward. I don't want to say too much- for I don't want to give it all away. You must see for yourself!
I can't wait to start reading Voyager(#3 - it's already in my bag to begin). You won't regret reading this series, but please.. you must read them in order - it will make for a much better understanding of the entire story. After reading one, you won't be able to help yourself from reading the rest.
A must for anyone who has even a mild interest in anything to do with Scotland as well!!

Not my favorite. Found it a bit slower going than Outlander, but it doesn't matter because I love the characters.

I loved Outlander and couldnt wait to go out to buy Dragonfly in Amber. It is such an amazing story.I love the characters Claire and Jamie...and now their daughter! I cried when she had to leave and I have never done that with a book! There is alot of background in all of her books, but it just enhances the story. Its a wonderful story... different from the other books I have read. Its definalty not a quick read!
