An Egyptian boy is cast out of his family and village because he can't seem to find his calling in life and brings bad luck to everyone around him. He is forced into thievery, but isn't any good at that either... until he meets & befriends a proud, beautiful female dragon. Any kid going through the dragon phase will love this book, and it's a great way to introduce historical fiction.
I searched six months online, in stores and in libraries for this book for my 11-yr-old daughter because I'm an avid Gillian Bradshaw fan. We weren't disappointed. I've read every book she has written, and all of them are exceptional. Bradshaw is an incredible hi-fi author! Even though it's categorized as a "young adult" book, it's probably more appealing to "tweens." I even read this book for myself, and it also makes a good "read aloud" or bedtime book. Feel free to email with any questions. ~LeAnn
