My family LOVES this book on CD. Brendan Frasier narrates and he does a fantastic job of brining the characters to life. Even my teenagers got completely caught up in the story while we were traveling and insisted on bringing the CD's into the hotel to continue the story at bed time. We listen to a lot of audiobooks while traveling and this is hands down the best thanks to Brendan Frasier.

My kids who love fantasy novels (ages 8-13) LOVED this book. I read it too and found it very good reading for youth fantasy/adventure. The dragons are dying out and a young boy goes on a long journey with one of the last dragons to save them.

I found the book Dragon Rider to be mediocre, but sort of a let down after having read Funke's Inkheart series. However, the accents and voices that Brendan Fraser threw in seemed to bring the characters new life. All in all I would much recommend listening to the audio book than read it in book format.
