- This cover made me think of another recent series I read and absolutely loved - Stephanie Rowe's "Must Love Dragons," "Date Me, Baby, One More Time," and "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Hot."
- The main characters Lisa and Caleb just weren't that interesting to me. He was basically a nice bod and she was just to even keeled for me. Malcolm and Saba, however, were a totally different story! I *wanted* to read about them. Malcolm is kind of like one of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters if your familiar with them.
- Good plot, story, and imagery. There are dragons, witches, demons, and even an alternate universe "Dragonspace."
- The first half of the book was just so so for me. The second half improved but I definitely enjoyed the secondary characters much more than the main two. I think Book 2, "The Black Dragon" will be much better. =)

This was a pretty good story but not great where I want to rush out and buy the rest of the series(though I already have the 2nd story since I bought them at the same time). As someone else mentioned, the secondary characters seem more interesting and they're in the next book! There's a lot of magic and oriental legends and all going on that I found a little hard to follow. At the beginning it's hard to tell who's 'good' and who's 'bad' but it becomes clearer as the story progresses. It just felt like a lot of serious 'magic' going on interspersed with some sex and silly/funny moments like the dragon(s) watching sports on tv..stuff like that that I found cute. I like the 2 books by G.A. Aiken better I think but this was still a pretty good read.

The cover kinda looked like a "cheesy" type romance novel, but it was really enjoyable. I like that is was set in modern times, on earth and not "old world" or on some other planet like many dragon/fantasy stories. The characters are interesting, funny, and diverse.
I cant wait to read the next book to see what happens w/ the witch & the black dragon. There was great fantasy, romance & lots of steamy sex scenes (even a small gay sex scene ...so if that bothers you, you may pass on this one) and even a good bit of laugh out loud humor. Lots of Dragons, Witches & Demons. Overall, it was really enjoyable, even though it had a couple spots where it lagged just a tiny bit. I would recommend esp. if you liked the Must Love Dragons series as another member mentioned. I will be reading the next one ...right now! :)

Great read....read it in one night...but then it has all of or most of my favorite things, dragons, witches, romance, sex and danger too...not necessarily in that order.

Lisa inherits her grandmother's apartment and finds a golden 50ft. dragon living in the extra bedroom. Three witches trapped him in that room and one of the witches turns him into a man, Barak. Caleb, posing as a man but actually a black dragon, is after Lisa for an orb she possesses so he can return to Dragonland. Donna, the strongest of the 3 witches, is also after the orb but she wants it to gain more power. Lisa has no idea what this orb is since her grandmother gave her no instructions about the dragons, witches or the orb. With all these great characters the story gets somewhat complicated but isn't hard to follow. I recommend it since it has a bit of everything: great plot and characters, romance, some sex, adventure, suspense, and nice surprises along the way.

Great book of a series. James does a great job of making you beleive that dagons really do exist and are there for a purpose. Read the books in order if you can. The people in chinatown are drawn quite well.

If you like fantasy romances, this is a book you'll want to read. Dragons taking on human form, power undiscovered, and of course romance. I love the main male lead both in his human and Dragon form and wanted the story to go on long after it ended.

Awesome read! Witches, Dragons, magic, romance, sex...who could ask for more?! The focus is on Lisa Singleton (who doesn't even relize who or what she is) and Caleb a beautiful golden dragon, but pay close attention to all the survivors...they reappear in the second book "The Black Dragon"!

Hot and funny! A dragon for a roommate! This is book one and I enjoyed the mix of Dragon lore and Asian magic. A lot of fun!

Witches and dragons........great paranormal book. 1st I've read and looking forward to more in this series. Caleb is Lisa's roommate and also a dragon. He is here to protect her. Lots of action and romance. Very good read.

Very good book, can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy. Action packed, somewhat unexpected happenings and worth the read.
I just could not get into this book. After the first few chapters, I hit a few sites to check reviews, which I rarely do. I'm putting this one down to just a voice/style of writing difference for me that I wasn't able to read it. I'm sure others will enjoy it.
