Alastair and his friends have decided that this will be the best summer ever - at least that's what they were thinking when Alastair fell off the dog-powered skateboard train and broke his collarbone. Now Alastair has to stay at home while his friends are at camp having fun.

Everything seems to be adding up to a hopelessly boring summer until Alastair finds a small blue thing eating his mother's garden - a thing with scales and sharp teeth. A thing that looks remarkably like a dragon.

But it can't be a real live dragon...can it?!
