Told completely from Gavin's perspective, he shares the beginning of his relationship with Ella and how he must deal with the past before he can truly move forward into a healthy relationship. It was interesting to read this book from a male's perspective and see how vulnerable he was trying to be in the beginning of a relationship and how hard that can be. I loved the new view of Ella as she wasn't telling the story and I definitely related to her at certain moments.
Even though the book is told through Gavin's point of view, the author does a clean job of moving forward other character's stories to allow for the next book to take a look from another person's point of view.
