good historical fiction set in Pittsburg 1847. The great Edgar Alan Poe accepts an invitation to travel to Pittsburg to lecture. Still reeling from the recent death of his wife, penniless always emotionally unstable, he travels with his young ward who has recently escaped from the clutches of a evil farmer in Ohio, where the youngster had been placed years before as an orphan. Together, they attempt to solve a grisly serial murder case, all the while a Cholera epidemic strikes grimy Pittsburgh.
Paperback, very good cond. with no internal marks. Non-smoker
