I thought this was one of the best Rollins Sigma novels yet! Full of action, including ancient mysteries, prophecies, booby trapped tombs, genetically engineered crops, disappearing bees, and the usual characters. I think one reason I may have really enjoyed this was because of its use of the Domesday book as a plot device as well as the GE crops and bees. My family originated in Great Britain and the early roots of our family are mentioned in the Domesday book. The GE crops and bees (colony collapse disorder) interested me because I work for the Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC and am somewhat familiar with both of these issues. Overall, another great actioner from Rollins!

As usual Rollins keeps you pretty much on the edge of your seat throughout this novel. Chapters end in cliffhangers to maintain your interest and keep you moving on. I really enjoy the history lessons along the way as well.

Rollins' latest Sigma Force book finds Grayson Pierce dealing with both Rachel Verona, an ex-lover as well as the enigmatic Seichan, who attempted to kill him in another book. He can't be sure if Seichan's trustworthy or not, but his team has to investigate why a South African archaeological dig was razed to the ground and a senator's son murdered. The villains are a multinational corporation with designs on controlling the world's food supply as well as Seichan, who hurts Rachel in such a way that you want Grayson to smack her around a bit. There are snowmobile chases, polar bear attacks, car chases, and even a quasi-steeplechase type scene involving bogs in Britain so that any action adventure aficionado should be satisfied.

Another fine Sigma force book. I am unpatiencely waiting for the next chapter. As always with this author the characters, regular and new, are well defined and developed. The setting and background are well developed and believeable. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys action and adventure. I just hope he keeps writing more books.

Another absorbing book by James Rollins - Completely enjoyable
If the world's population continues to grow at the rate it currently is, we will run out of food, and 90% of that current population will die from starvation. This book is perfect for conspiracy theorists, people interested in the ongoing GM problem, end of the world theories, historical buffs, of just the average thrill seeker such as myself. Again, Rollins does not disappoint.
Sigma Force confronts humankind's greatest threat, world hunger. This was an exciting adventure which took us to the Roman Coliseum to the icy peaks of Norway to the lost tombs of Celtic kings in search of a talisman, the Doomsday Day key, which was buried by a dead saint. Most chapters ended with a cliffhanger which kept the pages turning. This book had it all - history, mystery, prophecy, religion and science with lots of action in between. James Rollins is an excellent writing and I look forward to reading the next book in the Sigma Force series. I would highly recommend this series to adventure lovers.
