I'll read anything Jennifer Crusie writes. Most of her novels multiple times, but this, like most of the other books she's written in collaboration, once is enough.
I laugh out loud at regular intervals with her solo books, but I realized as I was finishing this that I only laughed out loud once in this book. At almost 400 pages, I think it's too long. The story is just not tight enough and there are places where it drags. Ms. Crusie has said it takes her 2 years to write a solo book. I'm willing to wait. In fact, I'd rather wait and add a re-reader to my shelves that get a once-is-enough book.

I'll start by saying that I LOVE Jennifer Crusie's books, so I have high expectations for any book with her name on it. However, this is not her finest. It's good, but not as good as "Welcome to Temptation", "Tell Me Lies", "Agnes and the Hitman", etc. It was well worth the price (got it on sale at Target!) and enjoyable, but just not as great as I expected. The talking dogs were funny and the three main women were well-fleshed out, but the guys were pretty interchangeable. I wish they had narrowed down the number of females in the group as seven plus the goddess was too many. The concept was fasinating and the ending funny, but "The Unfortunate Miss Fortunes" (the other book Crusie has co-written with two other authors) was better.

I'm about halfway through this book now and uncertain whether I will continue. There's a sort of forced overcuteness to it. The female characters are somewhat individuated, but the males are sketchy and pretty much could be anybody. I kinda like the Goddess, but I'm already tired of the talking dogs.
This might make a funny movie, depending on the casting, because you'd have the different faces of the actors to help you keep the characters straight, and their work to lend some personality to them.
I think many readers might find this more entertaining than I do - admittedly much contemporary romance with supernatural elements is ho-hum to me - but even to such readers I'd say: At 7.99, don't buy it new, it isn't worth it.

These three authors blend their styles together so well, it's almost impossible to tell where one author stops and another one starts. But mainly, they tell a fun, witty and sexy (very sexy) story of 3 women and their entanglement with a Mesopotamian goddess and god. The dogs have some of the best lines and the women score their men in a hot, hot way.
I actually laughed out loud quite a few times through this book, but then, I AM a dog person, and don't you sometimes wonder what your dog is thinking? The story was a little "cutesy" but enjoyable, the characters a little oversimplified (who finds two best friends and the man of her dreams all in under two weeks??) but entertaining. For me though - the best part was the pack of dogs. :) If you're looking for a quick fun read, I would recommend it.
I had a really hard time getting into this book. It jumps from character to character and the three stories take a while to really seem to come together and feel like one big story. Each character wasn't as well developed as I would have liked--one book for each character would have given better development. It felt lacking putting them all together.

Anything that has paranormal plus animals is always a hit with me. I wish I could read my dog thoughts at times. Very enjoyable read.

Three girls who lead somewhat boring lives end up meeting in a dog training class where they find out that they are goddesses. The ancient goddess their ancestors once served is back in town and wanting them to take their place as her preistesses. As they fight to find out who they are they meet the men of their dreams. I loved the dogs in the book and the role they played. If you are a dog lover then this book will keep you smiling.
I wanted to like this book I really did. I mean it had all the elements, special powers to communicate with animals, gods, goddesses, save the world, a hot guy, friendship..... but it just didn't come together and in the end I was disappointed. I kept reading waiting for the story to get better, but it never did. It wasn't horrible, but it could have used a few really good funny moments, and maybe a twist in the plot to shake it up a little as it was very predictable.

This one goes on the keeper shelf. It is a novel written by three authors - not three separate stories with the same characters as is more usual. And it works. It combines widely disparate elements: a resurrected goddess who digs smiting the populace, misspelled googling, talking dogs and the bonding of best friends - all while trying to save the world and connecting with the guys of their dreams. It was a trip.

I tried to get into this book, being a dog lover and all.. but I just found myself reading two pages and putting it down.. I am not proud but I gave up, life is too short to suffer through a book that you are not loving, and with paperback swap, i have about 20 books waiting for me to read them! so up for swap this goes! hope someone else can enjoy it, I just did not.

I didn't have any problems following the characters in this book. The authors wrote so well together, that although I am a huge fan of Jennifer Cruise, I honestly couldn't identify what was her writing or another's. This was a very smoothly written book that could probably have stood alone as three if they had written it that way...but was so much better all together. At the end, I found myself wishing that there would be more to the story, just because I enjoyed it so much.

I laughed out loud during several parts of this book. Immensely entertaining, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and recommend it to all!

Girl power mixed with talking dogs, what could be better. This is one of the few books that I would read again (even books I love I usually don't want to read over and over). 3 women meet by chance (destiny), become fast friends along with their dogs. Even though it's one story, it's told from each characters perspective. I really enjoyed that.

Do you really need another review? This not an anthology, but one novel written by the 3 authors together. I got this book because I love Jennifer Crusie. She writes some hilarious romance, or chick lit books. I think this book was everything it was intended to be. A great book about friends, their dogs, finding true love, battling an evil villan or two, finding the inner goddess in you, magic, saving the world while getting some great sex. The dogs talking was hilarious, I see Jennifer Crusie's voice written all over that part. This book is not just by Jennifer so it is different from her other books, different is still good.

A feel-good, silly romance book. The quirkiness wears off about half-way through and by the time the book ends, it was starting to drag. Just a little too cute for my liking. I did, however, like the reference to the "glittery hoo-ha". It is a phrase that I will use in conversation for the rest of my life!

I love Jennifer Crusie books and the ones where she writes with other authors and include fantasy elements are particularly good.
Was an ok book, a lot hokey, but good to pass a rainy weekend....
I just could not get into this one even though I love all of Crusie books, maybe it was just me.
Kammani, the Goddess of All Things, is awakened and starts wreaking havoc (swarms, plagues and floods) on the small town of Summerville, Ohio. Three women in town, Abby, Daisy and Shar - supposed Goddesses - know something is wrong and work together to put an end to Kammani. Of course, this is a romance so each lady has man trouble and personal problems. I liked Abby, Daisy and Shar and their men were really hot. The thing that really irked was the talking dogs. When it started, it was cute but it got irritating really fast. All in all not bad and thankfully there isn't a sequel.
This is by and far the dumbest book I've ever enjoyed. Talking dogs, resurrecting gods and goddesses, magic cookies..... It's all pretty ridiculous. But the characters are a hoot and some of the catch phrases made me laugh out loud. If nothing else, the book is worth reading just to hear what the dogs have to say.
This is the perfect book to read if you've just finished a Jodi Picoult novel and need to lighten up with something you don't have to concentrate on and just want to have a good time.

This was a really FUN read. I read it in about 3 days. I just enjoyed it so much. It's a quick read, romantic, sexy, and fun. I found it laugh out loud funny in parts.
I could only get to page 50. The writing is great. But as soon as the Dogs started to talk, I was done with the book. I gave it a few more pages but the plot for me was no good. I am sure it is a great book if you like what the story is about.
I loved the story and the interaction between the women and their dogs. It was very entertaining. A little suspense, a little romance and a lot of facinating other characters. I would recommend this one.
