This book is a historical fiction about Queen Nefertiti and her sister. It involves conspiracy, love, destiny, murder, and hope. It was very well written. I was grabbed from the first page. I read it super quick because I just could not put it down.

The story of Nefertiti and her sister; one longs to rule, the other for home and hearth. The interplay of family, politics and ancient Egyptian culture as each tries to realize her dream makes for an engaging historical novel.

This was a really good read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The title is misleading because the book really is about the sister of Nefertiti and not herself, but she does have a good place in it. I remember learning things about Egypt and Mummies in elementary school, but not much since then and this book was a good little history lesson as well as a good novel. Mutny, the main character and narrator goes through so much and the way that this novel is written you (the reader) go right with her. You feel her pain, her anger, and her ignorance at times right with her. This is an incredible accomplishment for a first time author. I strongly suggest the read as worthwhile.

This book was purchased at the Seattle Library book sale as a culled book. I picked it up to read on a snowy day this past March. Nefertiti has always been of interest to me so I've read a few other books about her. This one has a new (to me anyway) viewpoint, a younger sister tells Nefertiti's story. This author's take on the story is that the sisters are very close. Nefertiti feels that her sister is one of the few people she can trust. I enjoyed this book very much and even went on to do a bit of research on the two and wonder of wonders Nefertiti did in fact have a younger sister who also ended up being a queen in Egypt. I hope you enjoy the story as much as I did.
