Very funny and quirky. My two year old would shout out the phrases along with me. She enjoyed this one very much. Most kids I know are already fascinated with animals, puppy dogs included. For that reason alone this is a great book for kids. Not only that it helps with color recognition, and also opposites such as in and out, stop and go, over and under, etc. This book goes a long way towards teaching youngsters some beginning concepts that they will use throughout their lives.

Fun fun fun!!! Once the text is memorized...enjoy the other stories in the pictures. I still want to know why the one dog is wide awake in bed while everyone else is sleeping. Did he have a nightmare? Did he have too much caffeine? It's fun to speculate with your kids.

Great teaching book. I even read it to my English-As-A-Second-Language adult school class, and they loved it! (I guess they had no choice if they wanted to pass the class)

Oh my goodness, how I have loved this book! Even now in that I am in my twenties I still say that dogs are going to a go dogs go party when I see a group of them wandering( I live in the country so I see it often). Anyway, this book was an important part of my childhood..I brought me hours of fun! Fun is important you know.

Long time favorite of mine when learning to read as a child. There is something about how each different adventures of these dogs can empower a young reader. There is much humor throughout the pages and introduces words with flare! Wonderful illustrations on each page and seems to be made for both young boys and girls. If a parent is looking to help with teaching their children in reading, this book can be given as soon as three years old! They may not be able to read it at first, but reading this book to them can be a perfect beginning! A stack of these genres can encourage young readers to share with eachother and help them have a love of books. My cousins and I would take turns reading Eastman's books to each other. Boy those were the days! I can still remember Go, Dog. Go! and another favorite was Are You My Mother? You can not go wrong having these books in a child's library!

I chose this book because I loved it when I was a kid and I wanted my grandchild to enjoy it also. After sending it to my grandchild and decided that I wanted to have a copy for myself and thought how nice it would be to reread this likable and sweet story again. Its for children ages 2-50. No joke, I have put it on my coffee table as the cutest coffee table book ever! Teaches kids colors, spacial definitions, sizes, and numbers but really without trying to be educational it puts a smile on every readers face no matter your age. We need more books like this for children instead of books about king and king.Pleeeeze. I give it a 5.
