A graffiti artist is paiting the town-literally! The prime suspect is a troublemaker named Curtis. The only person who knows Curtis is innocent is Joe Talbot, but telling the truth could land Joe in the doghouse! This situation reminds Wishbone of Robert Louis Stenson's adventurous novel Kidnapped. Leaping into the tale, Wishbone imagines himself as David Balfour, a young Scottish Lowlander bound is kidnapped and forced to serve as the cabin boy on a sailing ship. When he is rescued by a fellow Scot named Alan Breck Stewart, Balfour's troubles are just beginning. . . .
