Good story with interesting twists, you don't know whether or not Andy will prevail till the very end.

23 rd in the series.

Very easy to figure out. The story was slow and too many characters.

This book is another delicious and delightful mystery romp. However, the location is in Maine (where David Rosenfelt lives). Andy and Laurie witness Matt take on a stranger who is viciously kicking his dog. After the police arrive, Matt turns out to be the 'subject of interest' in a double murder in Maine. Because Andy admires anyone who takes on a dog-beater, he agrees to help Matt with his extradition to Maine. Unfortunately, no one in Maine wants to take on the case. It's a stone-cold loser of a case.

As usual, Grover Gardner reads this lively tale. I couldn't stop reading and finished it in one day. This is a real page-turner that just won't let do of the reader. The bad guys were despicable, but the story is a lighthearted, wacky romp. I loved it.
