This book really surprised me as I expected a lighthearted little magical tale. I do love the characters and there is alot of humor-I was laughing out loud all through chapter 2 and I was hooked-but it did shock me somewhat and got rough as it went along. It's fast moving and loaded with twists and turns. It is a fun read-but a pretty intense thriller, as well. I loved it!

I Like the characters. The main "Mason" is hawt in my opinion. I love his Ifrit. I love the fantasy/suprnatural of this book. I am intrigued by all the different magical things the author comes up with.

Dog Days was a very pleasant surprise. A new spin on spell-casters with unique world-building. Levitt drew me right into his world and told me a really nice story. I was sorry to see it end. It will be interesting to see where the series goes.

Aside from being a bit of a slacker, the main character, Mason reminds me of early Harry Dresden.
Magic coming out his ears?

Finesse?
Not so much.
But there is plenty of badness going around, and ready or not...
