This book "grabbed" me almost immediately. It seemed very real, and I found myself easily relating to the narrator as she struggles with a "son gone bad," a marriage that is breaking up, a father with dementia, and other real life events.

The writing is superb but story was slow. I kept reading to find thte answer to the mystery which in the end was formulaic and predictable.

The question of who is she as a middle aged woman - a wife? a mother? a daugher? is the the focus of this book about very real and ordinary middle-age issues.
