The second in the Doctor Fenimore mystery series, this is a quirky mystery in which the systematic murders of family family members are foretold via a dollhouse that sits in the foyer of their Victorian home by the New England seaside. Sort of implausible, but lots of fun.

Cannot recommend. The main sleuth doesn't feel convincing as a Vietnam veteran male doctor. I kept feeling I was hearing the thoughts of an older woman (the author?) instead of the purported character. I had been drawn to the concept of the dollhouse being set up before each murder with each murder scene - but even that didn't ring true for the actual murderer. So I won't be reading more of the author.
