3rd book in The Lakeside chronicles, This in Nina and Greg's story, you also catch up on Daisy (still pregnant) and guess who is getting married? Olivia and Conner. Once again Susan Wiggs has given us a great summer read! I cannot wait for feb 2008 for the 4th book Snowfall at willow lake!

Nina Romano, single mom and ex-mayor of Avalon, is just a bank loan away from realizing her lifelong dream: restoring the Inn at Willow Lake, a historic lodge once owned by the wealthy Bellamy family, and turning it into an elegant retreat. Then she finds that Greg Bellamy has beat her to the punch. Greg and Nina have been sparring since the night Greg decked the West Point cadet who had gotten her pregnant at age 15. Now, nearly 20 years later, Greg is the divorced dad of his own pregnant teen. Predictably, Greg is clueless when it comes to running a hotel, and the only person in town qualified to act as general managerâNinaârefuses to take the position. Wiggs's uncomplicated stories are rich with life lessons, nod-along moments and characters with whom readers can easily relate. Delightful and wise

This was good, a warm happy book, it makes you feel very good after reading. You feel like the people deserve the endings they got, and you feel very involved with the characters by the time the book ends.

I like the way Susan Biggs tells a story. Telling the present situation and then going back to the past and filling in the details that brought the story to this point. Love history anyway but it is fun to read about the history of the characters too.

For those of you who have never read Susan Wiggs, know that she takes her time with a story. She also goes back and forth between time and no one is really the bad guy. Just different perceptions. There are also no detailed loved scenes, just hints of what happened.

I really enjoyed this one. I actually read Sophie and Daisy's books first. So going back I discovered that I liked Nina here so much more than the way Sophie saw her in her book. In a way this was kind of a rekindled of a lost love or potential love type of story. Right place at a wrong time until later on when it finally becomes the right time for both. Nina and Greg together was fun. I also loved the friendship between Nina and Jenny.

Even though this is part of a series, you really don't have to read them in order. Wiggs gives you enough information to get you along. Great, easy read.

Book 3 in the Lakeshore Series. I really love this series! These are all fun reads, and if you accidentally read them out of order, they can stand alone with minimal confusion.

So far, I have really enjoyed the entire "Lakeshore Chronicles" series by Susan Wiggs. Her ability to invent characters that are real and believable and her talent for giving details into the history of those characters makes you feel that you are part of the story.
