Uplifting, even for those who aren't devoutly religious. I'm not a churchgoer, but I still found this story of faith, redemption, and forgiveness to be uplifting.

The story of Mary Madison is intended as a modern-day parable of Mary Magdalene, and the healing power of God's love.

It's a sad, at time heartbreaking tale that ends with God's forgiveness and mercy. Overall, enjoyable.

This is the BEST Karen Kingsbury book I've read so far. It definitely doesn't go along like her other books usually do but it is so, so powerful and very well written. I read it in two days, mostly because at certain parts I had to put the book down for a few minutes and just walk away.

There are parts of this book that will make you smile...parts that will make you long for people to connect...parts that will make you feel like you're right there living the story with the characters...parts that make you want to yell and cry...and parts that will completely break your heart.

Thankfully, it can mend...but you'll have to read the book to see how.

I LOVE Karen Kingsbury's books. They always have a message. This was so compelling to put a modern day twist on the biblical woman Mary Magdalene. I read it while on a mission trip and it truly was a rich story.

This is a very powerful, tragic, sad and uplifting story of a woman named Mary who grew up on the streets and was abused horrifically and lived a life of servitude to men who treated her terribly. She was able to turn her life around with the help of one man who pointed her to Jesus. Mary becomes a strong, influential voice for abused women in politics in Washington D.C. and volunteers her time at abused women shelters.

This is a Christian book with the theme of Christian redemption and faith, but anyone can read this book and be touched by the tragedy endured by this woman who then devoted her life to making sure other women did not have to endure her despair and hopelessness.

This is a good story and a quick read.

This book reminds me why jesus came to save the lost. A really good read and a reminder that severe abuse is still very much a problem in our society.

WOW!!! A powerful story of redemption and forgiveness. A modern day story that parallels Mary Magdalene in the Bible. Karen Kingsbury has outdone herself on this one.

This book was recommended as the first book in a book club that my friend and I started. It was a page turner right from the start. I'm on Chapter 14 and can't wait to see what decisions Emma makes. I was pleasantly surprised that a "Christian Fiction" book was able t o draw me in so quickly. It began as a story of trials, and triumphs. Can't wait to finish it so I can read another one by this writer. 5 stars for "Divine"!!!!

This book deals with extreme abuse and at times was hard to read. It's hard to believe that things like this happen, but as always Karen Kingsbury writes from the heart dealing with our daily issues.

This book was hard to read because it touches on subjects that are difficult to read about. It is done so well that you can easily forget it is fiction. I highly recommend this book.

The story of a modern day Mary Magdalene. Mary Madison is a out spoken leader for abuse against women. She runs shelters and helps women recover from their past. Mary's story of the abuse she endured during her life is told as she attempts to help a young mother come away from an abuseive relationship.the book's story is very true to women in that bondage, some parts hard to read with out touching your heart.
