I love powerful Lt. Eve Dallas and how the complex New York City crimes are solved. If you don't wanna bite her husband, don't read these books! Nora Robert's best writing is as JD Robb in this "In Death" series of some 30+ stories to date. I collect all of the JD Robb books, but skip the Roberts, whose stories are not as tight as those about Lt. Eve Dallas - ass kicker! If the future of New York is like this, I fear these futuristic killers who are sneaky and complex.

I'll say it again. Everyone of these is better than the last. Love this series so much I read the book sparingly so I can enjoy them and not get to the end.

Reva Ewing, a security expert and former secret service agent, finds out her husband is cheating on her with her best friend. When she breaks into the friend's home to confront them, she finds them already dead. Or so she says when Roarke and Eve arrive after receiving a call from her mother, Roarke's admin assistant. Reva is also an employee of Roarke's, so from the very beginning, Lt. Eve Dallas has to deal with concerns for the personal connections as she tries to solve these murders. As the investigation digs into the past of the victims, new details of Eve's own past surface and Roarke and Eve face the toughest challenge of their marriage so far - can their love survive the difference in their views of right and wrong?
I found this book to be particularly gut-wrenching to read in several places - the intensity of the disagreement between Roarke and Eve, the scene where she confronts Mira with a lie about Mira's past, and the scenes between Feeney and Roarke all added layers to some of my very favorite characters ever.

spys, espionage and a security specialist for Roarke Enterprises. This along with a serious riff between Eve and Roarke which starts to endanger their marriage. J.D. Robb at her norm.

Very good - love the evolution of the characters from book to book.

I am hooked on J. D. Robb's In Death series. I have been very impressed with Nora's development of Eve. She is right on. I find I am amazed that Nora keeps coming back with excellent plots and clever stories. I really love this series.

A former member of the Secret Service, and security specialist for Roarke Emterprises was thought to have killed her husband and her best friend. Lieutenant Eve Dallas doesn't think it is a jealousy killing, she thinks it has to do with techno-terrorist
A good read, as usual by this author. I enjoy all of her books
Mavis, Eve and the whole gang rocking future NYC....fun read!
Typical Robb; futuristic, fast-paced, gritty. Well written.
I enjoyed this book
This is a great series of books!!
Another great book in the Death series.
Can't put this book down. ***
As always a super story.
Great!
Eve Dallas and Roarke rock!
Reading them all!!
Eve Dallas and Roarke rock!
Reading them all!!
Reva used to be a member of the Secret Service, and then a security specialist until she ended up finding her husband and best friend dead. Lieutenant Eve Dallas thinks there's more to this than jealousy. All of the husband's files in his computer were corrupted. Reva and her husband had been under a government contract to develop a program that would shield against technological terrorists. Eve must solve this mystery before the whole country gets affected!
I didn't like this book all that much. Maybe if I had read this series from the beginning I would feel differently. The story jumped right in with very little set-up of the characters, which is fine seeing as there are several books before this one. One thing that annoyed me was the author used several words without explaining what they were (the story takes place in 2059 I think). Also, just so future readers are aware, there was A LOT of swearing in this book. It is possible to read this book without having read the others and still understand what is going on because the plot (a case getting solved by the main character who is a cop) does have a beginning, middle and end.
Excellent read. Set in 2059 but you will find where crime is concerned things are too much different from now.
Eve Dallas faces her own darkest ghosts as she investigates a double murder that leads to spies, terrorists, and assorted double-dealing.
another great eve dallas mystery.
Great book. I've never read Roberts writing as Robb but it was actually a really good treat. I like that it takes place in the future but it's unbelievable! She makes it interesting and adds some twists that are even better.
Another great Eve Dallas book. This is #18 of the full length 'In Death' books. There are also four anthology short stories.

best book in the series so far. very emotional.
This was pretty good. I liked reading the issues between Eve and Roarke; it shows that they are far from perfect. It made me hope for a good, and realistic, resolution and I think it was accomplished. I also enjoyed the mystery, even though I guessed an aspect of it.
Excellent!
another good one, its so easy to blast thru her books. . .I'm reading something else in between, to slow me down. . .Im readin this series in order. this book had a deeper plot than some, and not much interaction with Eve Dallas and all her crew.
i really enjoyed this book. only took me 3 days to read. once it catches my eye i cant put it down!! this series is quite interesting. luv it. thnx to this site.
A midnight call from Roarke's Administrative Assistant, Caro, leads Eve and Roarke to the scene of a murder. Caro's daughter, Reva Ewing, tracked her cheating husband to his girlfriend's apartment only to find them dead. All evidence points to Reva being set up as the killer. Eve and Roarke, along with Peabody, McNab, and Feeney, uncover government intrigue, spies, and a computer virus. But the most shocking detail that is uncovered is a secret from Eve's past...a secret that may drive Roarke and Eve apart.
This book started off strong with the latest murders in the very first pages. But as the mystery continued, I had a hard time concentrating on it. There were lots of twists and turns, most of which I didn't see coming; yet it wasn't a favorite in this series. But, the relationship part of the story was excellent. Roarke and Eve are divided when a detail from Eve's past is uncovered. How they work through their disagreement makes this book a strong entry in the series. My rating: 4 Stars.

any in death book should be on your to read list. if youenjoy nora roberts you will also enjoy these. may take a little while to get into the story line but after a dozen pages you will be hooked. happy reading
another interesting twist in the Eve Dallas and Roark mysterys. One of Roarks employes is framed for murder, and he asks Eve to head the investigation. Great twist and turns.
From Nora Roberts, writing as J.D. Robb, comes a new novel, the first hardcover in the number-one New York Times best-selling series.

As with all the "Death" series, I enjoyed the book. Robb has a way of making you see the story as you read it, which makes for a great story. The characters come to life and I am always trying to figure out who the bad guy really is! A definite read for those who like thrillers with a little steamy romance.
This is a very good mystery and I enjoyed it a lot.
Excellent-very suspenseful.
Great mystery/crime book
Great books... read them all - in order!
As with all Nora Roberts (writing as JD Robb) books this book is hard to put down!
One of my favorite so far in this series. Eve and Roarke grow in their relationship greatly in this one.
It is the year 2059, a future where technology and humanity collide, and a new computer virus has become the latest form of terrorism.
GREAT BOOK ONE OF THE BOOKS IN J.D. ROBBS IN DEATH SERIES
Another great read!
A former member of the Secret Service until she is found standing over the bodies of her husband and best friend, Blair. Believing it to be a jealous rage until a Lt. finds the files have been corrupted and suspects there is more to the story
I love all of this series that I have read so far. I look forward to finding the few that I haven't been able to find in second had book stores.
Loved it!
2059 NYC; Technology and humanity collide and anew computer virus has become the latest form of terrorism. Meet Reva Ewing.
Great Read, Many Twists and Turns. Has a sci fi feel to the book.
The accused works for the detective's husband's company and is the daughter of his secretary. Murder strikes very close to home for Det. Eve Dallas and her hunky spouse, Rourke.
All of the 'In Death' books are great.
Love this series!!
Another good plot -- a fun series

another amazing book!
Great book.
If you don't care for Nora Roberts BUT love Mystery/Dark Thrillers with a side of romance and a dash of comedy - then I think you'll love J.D. Robb's ... In Death series written by Nora Roberts alter ego.
I won't go into the details of the books but will tell you this: Superb character development, continuity of the story line (which means you really need to read the books in order although they can stand alone) is top notch, the relationships that are webbed and weaved together throughout each page are phenomenal and let's the reader 'really' get to know the characters.
Here's a list of all the books in order (I'm leaving off the 'In Death' part):

Nora Roberts wrote as J.D. Robb!
Loved this book. Gripping mystery, great characters!!!
Great book!
Great read.
Another excellent tale of Eve Dallas!
I love this series. This is a duplicate copy so it's free for the asking.
This was the 33rd book I read this year! When I saw the hardcover on sale at my local library I couldn't resist snatching it up to share. I have registered this copy at bookcrossing.com and it has accompanying bookcrossing labels on and inside the book. It's also an ex-library copy and has library markings as well. Otherwise it's in tip-top shape & ready for a new home!
I'm reading these books completely out of order. I read Naked In Death & its direct sequel quite a few years ago (when they were first released) and then read this one, which I think is #10 in the series. Surprisingly enough I wasn't confused all that much and actually remembered the dynamics of the Eve/Rourke relationship all these years later. This book features many secondary characters I was unfamiliar with but they came "alive" so well it didn't matter after a few pages. The story focuses on the double murder of the husband (and his lover) of one of Rourke's trusted employees. During the course of the investigation Rourke and Eve are "divided", as the title suggests, by their opposing views on revenge. Eve is forced to face her brutal past and it's all quite harrowing. A harrowing read laced with moments of humor. I enjoyed it lots.
