I give this first in a series a 4 star rating. I love the Silver Bullet diner straight out of 1952, and the cooking. Trixie has bought herself a new lifestyle, a resort property in Upstate NY, WAAAY upstate. On lake Ontario, with 12 cottages, and a house and the diner. This is near the 1,000 Islands, and near my home, so I really loved that theme. Can picture it easily. Good cast of characters, Trixie the main star of the book is likeable, and the mystery is half way decent. Good series to follow!

This is a fun read. And it does have interesting people in it, and a very good mystery to solve. My only gripe is that the author didn't do enough research on mushroom poisoning. The victim dies shortly after eating a destroying angel mushroom sneaked into his food. However, it takes 2-3 hours for a destroying angel to take effect in a person, after it gets into the small intestine and the body starts to digest it.

Picky, I know. But overall, it was a good read and interesting mystery.
