I'm not convinced that the wife committed this crime, and I'm too cynical to believe that conviction means guilty. There were others with motives, too.

From the front cover: His wife brutally murdered him. But he found vengenance from beyond the grave--with a chilling clue buried in his will...

He'd been shot in the head, decapitated, and set on fire. Who could have turned on the real-estate ace with such bloodthirsty fury? Even before the remains were found, circumstantial evidence was building against Rudin's 52 year old wife, Margaret, who stood to inherit a handsome share of her husband's fortune. Rudin's friends also suspected Margaret, and the victim had thought that his wife was trying to poison him when he was alive. Then a chilling caveat was discovered in Rudin's living trust: should he die under violent circumstances, an investigation should be conducted. By the time authorities closed in on Margaret Rudin, she'd disappeared. It would take two and a half years to hund the Black Widow down, and to discover the secrets at the heart of a poisonous marriage...
BUT VENGEANCE WOULD COME--FROM THE GRAVE...

IN JANUARY, 1995, SKULL AND BONE FRAGMENTS OF 64-YEAR-OLD LAS VEGAS MULTI-MILLIONAIRE, RON RUDIN, WERE DISCOVERED IN A REMOTE AND ROCKY RAVINE ALONG LAKE MOHAVE.... He'd been shot at least four times in the head, decapitated, and set on fire. Who could have turned on the ambitious real-estate ace with such bloodthirsty fury? Even before the remains were found, circumstantial evidence was building against Rudin's tempestuous 52-year-old wife, Margaret, who stood to inherit a handsome share of her husband's fortune. Rudin's friends also suspected Margaret, and Rudin himself had thought that his wife was trying to poison him when he was alive. Then a chilling caveat was discovered in Rudin's living trust: that should he die under violent circumstances, an investigation should be conducted. By the time authorities closed in on Margaret Rudin, she'd disappeared. It would take two-and-a-half years to hunt the Black Widow down, and to discover the cold-blooded secrets at the heart of a poisonous marriage....BUT VENGEANCE WOULD COME-FROM THE GRAVE.... Now, reporter Michael Fleeman delivers a startling glimpse into the mind of a woman who would stop at nothing to get what she wanted as she drove the man who had promised to love and honor her to secretly fear her. Fleeman also details the relentless pursuit of justice that would lead authorities from the glamorous faade of Las Vegas to a squalid apartment on the outskirts of Boston to hold the remorseless wife accountable for her shocking and unfathomable crimes.

Great book! This was an interesting and very thorough telling of the story behind the murder of a well-known Las Vegas developer. This book was well-written and the author made a true crime book read like a suspense novel. I highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in the twists and turns a well-written suspense novel takes. The author also reinforces my own belief that you can't always take someone at face value. This case revolves around the gracious, soft-spoken, "lady of the manor" who was married to the victim at the time of his death.

I believe this woman is guilty of the crime of which she is accused but the lawyer who represented her in her criminal trial should be charged with something for the way he handled himself. It made my blood boil to read about his transgressions regarding her defense. As always, Michael Fleeman presents this story in an easy to read format.

Ron Rudin murder in Las Vegas, 1995. Wife, Margaret tried for the crime. Great courtroom drama, true crime. Named the Black Widow, Margaret was hunted for 2 1/2 years. Michael Fleeman, reporter writes a really good account of this strange story...very good book. Story just won't quit, seen Fleeman interviewed on TV crime show just last week (8-06).
