This book was very intense from the gun scene in the first chapter right up until the Yaay! moment. To get to that point though the heroine underwent emotional and physical trauma and the hero had a deprived childhood which in turn toppled him into guerilla warfare, yet the characters are so well defined that you can't help but go along on their journey with them.
